Hello! After updating the firmware on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II camera from version 1. 0 to version 4. 0, the photo mode stopped working in the camera correctly. The firmware was updated strictly according to the instructions located on the official site. Before updating the software, the battery in the camera was 100% charged, there was no memory card in the camera, the computer was connected to the mains through UPS. The process of the firmware went through without any problems, there were no hesitations and errors, after the firmware the inscription appeared on the camera screen: " OK " . After updating the firmware, the camera turned on, at first glance everything worked, the new software version 4 was displayed in the camera settings. 0. The video mode works correctly, the problem concerns only all the photo modes, it is reflected in the video here: https: // youtu. be / R4qY1xwq7XA
I tried to distort the battery, formatted the card in the camera again, tried it with other cards, reset the settings in the camera, but the problem remained. I ask for your help, what could have happened to the camera? Can this be fixed and how? We have a small city, there is no service center, it is not even in Novosibirsk, only the point of reception of Olympus equipment, followed by shipment to Moscow.
Thanks in advance!

And if you reflash again?

Does not give. There is no possibility, because the latest firmware version is already installed. And you can not go back.

Here they write:
For Olympus OM-D and PEN cameras, there is a way to update the firmware without using the Internet and a standard firmware programmer. Firmware update is made from a memory card. In this way, you can not only update the firmware, , but also roll back to the previous version or flash the existing version again.

Warn, truth:
By flashing the camera in this way, you act at your own peril and risk. Neither I nor the administration of the forum is responsible for any failures, failures and risks during a flashing.
But if it does not work anyway, then there is nothing special to risk.

Yes, I found this method, I have already tried two firmware, no use. But on the advice of one person who has such a camera, I changed the shutter mode to electronic and it all worked. Apparently with fur. shutter some kind of problem.

This is possible, only a strange coincidence with the firmware update. In principle, the mechanics there are some not very reliable. In 2 years my switch went bad (fortunately, I was stuck in the "on" position, so I just stopped turning it off), and the battery cover flew off. May be.

Yes, the fact of the matter is that it is not a fact. . . that there was no such thing before the firmware) The camera is not mine, he asked a friend to flash, but he doesn’t use it often and he doesn’t remember how it was done) Mechanical mode, as an option.
