Help with a choice

set itself two options

1) CANON 40D kit 17-85mm IS UMS f / 4. 5-5. 6

2) Nikon D300 Kit 18-135mm AF-S DX

difference in price at approximately $ 500, is it worth to pay for the second option
and that can be said about the accompanying whales

. . .

Another option Nikon D300 + 16-85mm AF-S DX but probably more expensive. The options are endless, and there is already the amount needed to decide what is more important for you. I would (these) chose D300 At least for convenience.

Canon 40D + 17-55 / 2. 8IS the price will be close to the second option, lighter optically better with the stabilizer, but shorter.
